Over at Lifehacker, Gus has spotted that JB Hi-Fi is offering a pretty sweet deal for Canon DSLR buyers; $100 off trade-in for your old camera when buying selected Canon DSLRs. I was initially a little concerned by the “if it has a lens” tagline; most DSLR lenses, even second-hand should be worth more than $100. Reading the T&Cs, though, it says “any old camera”. Now, where did I put that box brownie?

I don’t need a new DSLR right now (and frankly can’t afford one, even at $100 off), but I wonder what would happen if you went to JB with a self-constructed (but old) pinhole camera?

Friday, August 26, 2011 at 12:03 PMI bought my DSLR with them a year ago with a similar deal (there was no stipulations about lenses) so I went next door and got a $5 disposable. They were good sports and gave me the extra $100 off.
Thanks JB.
