Apple’s Beautiful New Spaceship-Like Campus

We’re all quite familiar with how beautiful the proposed new Apple campus is supposed to look. Well, today Cupertino released new renders of the facility. And they look mighty stunning. Like, I kind of wanna live in these images, stunning.

The 175-acre, 2.8 million square foot spaceship will be done by 2015. In the meantime, we can only dream. [9to5Mac via TechCrunch]

    Very inefficient use of space.

But Apple is more about pretty, than useful, huh?

Obviously you didnt watch the proposal to the council about it, it’s beautiful and efficient, considering what they actually want.

Single-level above-ground carparking (which currently dominates the site) has to be one of the least efficient uses of space humanity has ever come up with.

The plan basically reverses the current proportions of the site devoted to hardscape and softscape, which would seem to be a clear win in terms of amenity and the environment.

The more this goes on, the more they start resembling the Movementarians. Steve Job has his giant spaceship and will take all his followers to their home planet of Blisstonia.

We surrender our wills, as of this date!

There has to be someone out there with a collection of lima beans that resemble Steve Jobs.

(This is a different Steve by the way).

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY STEVES

Well I guess this means that Doughnut Kings, Jewellers, The people that make those flying ring things and tyre manufactures had better prepare for legal action from Apple as they clearly copied apples own design.

And to all the Steve’s you might as well get your names changed now. Cause Job’s invented that too.

Woah man, get over yourself. It’s a cool building from Apple. If Google does a cool building, we’ll run that too. And compared to what is going on with the world? We’re a gadget/tech/cool shiny stuff website. Head on over to SBS.com.au if you want the latest on the global financial crisis. Holy crap.

Apple = Tech buddy old pal. Did you throw up your arms and cry when Giz ran an article on the open plan layout of Google’s offices? Probably not.
Go look at the surrounding buildings/Biz parks before you start calling this building rubbish. At least they are making an effort when cramming 12,000 employees into a single building.
Stop the knee-jerk reaction to Apple unless you apply the same knee-jerk reaction to any other tech company/story.

Yeah I gotta agree with Danny and the others on this one. Criticise Apple if you like about their increasingly weird activities.

But… criticising Gizmodo for reporting news in the gadget area? What the hell are you on, naum? If it’s so ho-hum, why don’t you show us the other similar buildings made by gadget companies?

Self confessed Apple detractor says – I’m thrilled that they have finally ‘jumped the shark’ in a way that even the noobs that buy their products can understand.
