Victorinox is now shipping its classic Swiss Army knife sans the knife part. This geek tool includes a single-blade or double-blade USB drive enclosed in a waterproof and shock-resistant casing. They claim to have “iron clad” USB data encryption and a TSA-friendly, blade-less design.
Two models are available in a variety of colours including silver, blue, orange, pink and green. The slim model includes a single USB drive starting with a 4GB model for $US45, while the $US500 Slim Duo has two drives totaling 128GB. [Victorinox via Ubergizmo]

Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 5:41 PMYeah, the plain ones maybe a bit expensive for what they are.
But some of the high-end featuring laser-pointers, bluetooth controllers for presentations and fingerprint readers seem worth it for people that do presentations regularly.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:19 PMNo, you would look far too cheap with just any old USB drive, you need a name brand one with fancy extras that do nothing in the real world…..

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:52 PMThere are certainly some alternatives that may be slightly cheaper, but you can’t discount this concept altogether. I think these are rad. If the waterproof claim is actually correct, then thats some real good functionality, plus the design of Victorinox gear means that the key chain part would probably last as long as the USB. Would never bother with the 128gb tho. Practicality, rugedness, and extras you WOULD use make this a great buy. Stick with your plastic Kingston if you want tho Cameron ;)

Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 12:05 PMWhy carry a real knife if you can carry around Knife.exe?
“Slice this block of cheese with your Swiss Army Knife please!”
“With pleasure”….. 10101000111101001011101.
There we go, perfect slices every time.

Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 12:29 PMIf someone tried to come at me in a street fight with a knife, I would whip out Knife.exe, and say, how about I carve you with some binary bish.
