BlackBerry Messenger 6.0 Will Now Share Your Location

Leaving its pimply beta adolescence and debuting as the official new BBM 6.0, a host of new features have been added. Users can now send more than messages and photos to one another, with locations, links, calendar appointments and podcasts supported.

The app has also been upgraded with third-party app support, meaning your BBM status can now display your latest check-in on Foursquare, and restaurant details can be sent through the Poynt app.

One thing missing from the update is cross-platform IM support — BBM users can still only message BBM users. This could change, and should change, if BlackBerry still wants to remain relevant. [BBM via IntoMobile]
