Which Jailbreak Apps Are You Using?

iOS 5.0 is pretty great and hits a lot of the bullet points iPhone users have long been complaining about. But, of course, jailbreaking still lets you do more with your iPhone. So what’s favourite jailbreak apps?

I’ve dabbled in the jailbreaking scene before, SBSettings has always been indispensable, Notifier+ is pretty gnarly and biteSMS makes replying to texts less of a pain. But I’m sure you guys have been using more. What are the apps you can’t live without? What are the apps you jailbreak for? iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, we want all jailbreak apps.

    “SBSettings has always been dispensable”
Don’t you mean indispensable, this is a must have.

PKGBackup is also a must, well worth the $7.99. It makes it a very simple process to reload all Cydia apps after updating firmware & re jailbreaking.

Lock Calendar, Five Icon Dock & SnapTap are my other must haves.
iOS 5.0 will make SnapTap redundant though.

I was using MobileNotifier but that was a battery sucker.
Just waiting for the release of iOS5 – even if it means I have to temporarily sacrifice my jailbreak :-(

Aptbackup does the same thing as pgk and is free.

Folder enhancer is fantastic and I’m puzzled why apple just doesn’t do it like that.

    Winterboard, for obvious reasons.

Sbsetiings, and to be honest I wont upgrade til I can get that.

    Bitesms

And lock info as a way to redisplay notifications.

SBSettings with KeepAwake toggle (keeps wifi alive).
Winterboard & assortment of custom icon sets.
    5 icon dock.
    5 column springboard.
    Infiniboard (vertically scrolling springboard).
    QuickReply for SMS reply overlay.
Backgrounder & ProSwitcher. This combo makes the iOS4+ multi-tasking implementation look and feel ordinary by comparison.
Activator to customise what happens when.

I couldn’t go back to stock iOS.

PKGBackup also does SHSH blobs, Aptbackup destroyed my phone once (my fault)

    iFile
    Crashreporter
    MxTube
    My3G
    Truprint
    MyWi
    Snappy
    Terminal
    iGotya
    Infinifolders
    PocketMode
    Safari Download Manager
    Covert

    But best of all LockInfo

(and I have Giz to thank for a few of those!)

Lockinfo for sure, and SBSettings, Winterboard and Activator kinda go without saying now.
Could not use my phone without BiteSMS anymore, QuickReply is the best. BrowserChanger is another must-have for me, there are much better browsers on the app store than safari (I use iCabMobile) and BrowserChanger allows me to use them properly.
PwnTunes is another. I don’t really like iTunes, and I can add songs to my iPhone with PwnTunes through explorer on practically any machine, which is a major plus.

There’s others, but that’s the essentials for me.

Am I the only one that couldn’t go even an hour without using multicleaner? I have even got others hooked on it so much that when they use in-store iPads they still try to use it to shut down any apps they were playing with even though by the fourth try it’s cleary not working for them.

I only jailbreaked because I needed to multitask, share my 3G connection with my iPad, get better notifications and theme. I’m now running iOS 5 beta 2 and apart from themeing, my iPhone does everything and more than I ever needed from it jailbroken. It’s taken a long time but iOS 5 is FANTASTIC. All this from a beta version. Pretty impressive.
