The Griffin DJ Cable is simple. It splits the audio signal of your iPad (or iPhone or iPod touch) in two. One signal carrying the master out goes to your speakers, while the other goes to your headphones with the cueing track in tow. The only bummer is that to pull off the feat, the DJ Cable takes converts each signal to mono and spits them out through the L and R channels of the iPad’s audio output. Still, it will make mixing on the virtual 1s and 2s easier. What it won’t do, however, is magically turn you into a competent DJ. That’s on you.
Griffin Technology Partners with algoriddim to Unveil DJ Cable for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch
Available at Apple stores worldwide, the DJ Cable combined with algoriddim’s djay app enables Split Output mode for pre-cueing, giving DJs full audio control on-the-go
Nashville, Tenn. and Munich, Germany – June 16, 2011 – Griffin Technology Inc., makers of innovations for everyday life, and algoriddim, makers of the line of djay products for Mac and iOS devices, are excited to announce DJ Cable for iOS devices is now available. Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:24 AMAs a DJ this is sad… its crazy how many kids want to play at clubs.. you ask them what experience they have their reply “private parties” then you ask what gear they use their reply “2 iPads”….. they need to have a warning on the apps “just because you can use an iPad to make poorly accurate scratching noises does not make you a true fully sick DJ, you are still an average person, you should not try and play in clubs, pubs or anywhere expect drunk with small amount of friends”

Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:35 AMPURIST ALERT :You don’t get it Jeff its all about the MUSIC not about the medium . Vinyl is the fine art no doubt but its like arguing that graffiti isn’t art and those kids should be getting oil’s and canvas !

Friday, June 17, 2011 at 2:07 PMHahaha Jamie, I don’t use vinyls, I actually use MIDI which most “purist” DJ’s don’t like…..|
Not mocking this product as it seems good, just wanted to have a rant about some of the people that use it :P

Monday, August 1, 2011 at 8:19 AMI agree Jeff it is so easy for anyone to call themselves DJs with todays technology. I am an oldschool DJ (23 yrs exp) but have always kept up with the new gizmos like the Numark IDJ Live with the DJ app and this DJ Cable with my IPAD and love it (I do use it as a backup)

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 6:36 PMA bad dj with great choise of music will do better then a great dj with less taste.. I like this app, but mono output doesn’t cut it . If you could get 2 stereo outputs to feed an external mixer, you would have a killer app!
