Buying movie tickets online sounds good in theory, until you end up queuing at the candy bar to redeem your printed out e-ticket for real tickets you can give to the usher. Village has finally launched a mobile site that lets you buy tickets online and use a QR code sent to your mobile as a dedicated ticket.
It’s interesting that Village has opted to use a mobile site rather than a dedicated app for the service, but it does mean that almost any phone user can use it, regardless of mobile OS.
The biggest caveat about the service is that it automatically allocates seating, which is frustrating if you like sitting in a certain position within a cinema.

But village already give you the option to print out tickets at home that have a barcode on it they just scan when you get there (or in some cases don’t scan). So there’s no queuing anyway. Hoyts however…..
