Telstra’s NextG network is capable of the theoretical 42Mbps download speed, but you can only use it with one of the company’s USB mobile broadband modem. Hopefully Telstra is keeping an eye on Netcomm;’s new mobile data router, which can support the 42Mbps HSPA+, and has just launched in Saudi Arabia.
The DC-HSPA+ 42Mbps WiFi Router is apparently the world’s first 42Mbps capable router, and has launched on Mobily in Saudi Arabia. It can support theoretical upload speeds of 5.76Mbps, and like most routers features four LAN ports for ethernet connection to PCs and internet-connected devices.
No word on whether we’ll ever see it in Australia, but here’s hoping…

Friday, May 27, 2011 at 5:35 PMNetcomm currently makes our 3G Modem/routers, so I wouldnt be suprised if you see that with Telstra soon. Until then if people have the Ultimate USB dongle Netcomm has a couple of Routers which can support the speeds available on the Sierra A312u device.

Besides, if the telcos launch it here, they’ll be charging both arms, both legs and your first born just to get it!
