Sony Gives PlayStation Move Its Own Dev Kit Too

Microsoft recently opened up Kinect to all those developers that made weird homebrew things with the advanced camera, so why shouldn’t Sony? They did!

Sony’s releasing a development kit called move.me that will let people make weird-arse applications with the PS3 motion sensor. Not sure what they could do that hasn’t already been done with the Wiimote, but there is a PS Eye camera that goes with Sony’s version. [PlayStation]

This is obviously going to address the demands of all those users currently forced to hack into it at the moment as supported by all those clips on youtube……………oh wait, that was that other console.

    Who’d bother with this!

Even though I think the Kinect is still the superior device to go for when hacking, I’d like to see what Move.me can let people do.

I wonder if this is a saving face move that came as a result of “Over 9000 PS3 firmware updates a month? That’s our boy!”

This is a slap in the face for any developer who’s touched Sony’s equipment. Why bother, you can get a kinect sans console and do the same thing, probably better
