Kobo Wi-Fi Reader Now Available At Borders

Gizmodo AU

If you were holding off heading down to your local Borders Bookstore to buy a Kobo reader while you wait for their new Wi-Fi version to be released, you should probably skip work, hop in a cab and hightail it down there right now. The Wi-Fi Kobo is now on sale for $179.

The Wi-Fi version lets you put book son the device easier than having to tether it to your PC, which is a huge step forward for the budget eReader. It’s available at both Borders and Angus & Robertson bookstores, and comes in three different colours: Onyx, Porcelain with Metallic Silver back, and Porcelain with a Pearlized Lilac back.

Any other improvements over the previous one, or just Wi-Fi?

The other improvements are its greater contrast screen, a processor that’s twice as powerful, and a built in dictionary.
The only advantage over the kindle is its support of the ePub format, which means a wider selection of books to choose from, and theoretically a more competitive eBook market.

    Or you could get a wifi-only AU-version Kindle3 for $40 less.

I’ll invest in one when they have adequately provided a colour solution.
