Let’s be honest – for the most part, if you’re going to buy an eBook reader, you’re either going to grab a Kindle or a Kobo. Or maybe, if you feel like splurging, you might grab a Sony Reader. But if you want to grab an e-ink screened reader for a reasonable $250, Millennius has just jumped into the market.
The device features a six inch e-ink screen, Wi-Fi and text to speech, with a battery life of around 8000 page turns and support for most file types, although .mobi seems to be missing from the list. It’s got a Dual Core 400 MHz processor and weighs in at about 200 grams. There’s 2GB of internal memory and you can expand it up to 16GB via the MicroSD card slot.
As a tech spec rundown, it’s all fairly generic, although the included WiFi sounds nice. That said, without a dedicated ebook store, we’re not sure what the WiFi would really be used for with an eReader.
