Samsung Galaxy Beam Probably Won’t Get Released In Australia

title=One of the cooler gadgets on display on Samsung’s IFA stand last week was the Galaxy Beam, a pico-projector-toting Android smartphone that hit Singapore shelves back in July. I wouldn’t hold your breath for an Australian release though.

Running Android 2.1, with tri-band 3G (900, 1900 and 2100MHz), the Galaxy Beam (which went by the codename Halo for a time) has a WVGA projector capable of a 50-inch screen. And while the projector makes the phone a little chunky, the 8MP camera, A-GPS and 3.7-inch AMOLED screen make it a very attractive camera.

Sadly, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see an official release in Australia – although the word from Samsung doesn’t rule out the possibility:

“There are currently no plans to launch the Samsung GALAXY Beam in Australia, however, if consumer interest or demand is there, we will review the situation.”

In other words, start demanding!
