Those Unlimited ADSL2+ plans that were unveiled on Whirlpool last month are now officially available. For just $75 a month, you get unlimited ADSL2+ broadband. No upload limits, no download limits. Of course there is a catch, although it’s only a temporary one…
At present the unlimited offer is only available in Sydney, although it will roll out around the country as TPG completes its backhaul upgrade. It’s also not available on naked, so you’ll need a line rental in there as well.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 1:17 PMPlease dont fall for this anybody. Like all ISPs TPG reserves the right to change their terms and conditions at any time.
Do they think we’ve all forgotten only 5 or so years ago before bittorrent when Unlimited used to mean unlimited untill the cable ISP (Optus and Telstra) decided otherwise because people started using all that bandwidth. Terms and conditions were updated to include “fair use” which in term became 60GB which in turn became 30GB for the same price.
This is a grab to get churn customers after which TPG’s network will slow to a crawl or the download limits or shaping on file share traffic will be introduced putting you back to where you were in the first place.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 3:19 PMBitter much? Mate, the bad old days are over, unlimited is now unlimited, especially since other ISP’s are looking at releasing their unlimited service plans soon. This unlimited plan from TPG is truely unlimited, there is no cap, no shaping and no peak or off peak limits. The bandwidth at TPG’s disposal is massive, almost enough to run the entire country on, however the 2nd pipe used mostly by the big Telco’s doubles that, there won’t be any network slow down or changes to what unlimited means this time, welcome to the future.
I will not be paying more than $50 for internet any time soon, so I’ll have to live with my 130GB ADSL+2 plan that shapes to 1mbps up/down…at the rate that TPG ups their plans (with changes virtually every other month to increase download limits) I will have the unlimited plan for the same cost in about 6 months.

ive been with tpg since 1996. indeed you are right, they can change their terms and conditions at any time like ALL ISPs. and it has happened to me, but they have never changed my plan – any plan changes they have ever made i was never forced into, ever.
tpg are fine.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 7:10 PMThat makes me even more angry to be in a damn pair gain system!! I HATE TELSTRA!!
KiLotr
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 4:33 AMHey Marco… tell any other ISP but telstra to get you out of the pair gain… then come and tell us how they laughed.
Too bad so many companies just leech out of Telstra instead of investing on their own equipment.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:30 AMExactly as KiLotr says, Telstra are only obliged to supply you with a phone line – and any other company you talk to about what they can do to fix your situation will blame Telstra and wash their hands of it.

Monday, April 12, 2010 at 2:21 PMCraig, KiLotr, I’ve already tried everything you can imagine with the ISPs and Telstra.
My conclusion is that Internet in Australia simply sucks.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 4:34 AMTPG have to be one of the worst ISPs, right behind Telstra.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:35 AMAlso in my experience TPG are terrible, bad service in various aspects including the customer kind, but not limited to the key service they provide. If other companies are talking about unlimited plans then I am sure I can wait for a better company to release it.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 9:36 PMI am a techie and very skeptical of anything labeled “unlimited”.
But i have to say since critical pipes have been laid over the last few years I have to agree that bandwidth issues are a thing of the past especially with our current population sizes in metro areas that can get these good ADSL2+ connections.
I also have to say that I’ve been with TPG for 2 years now and have had no problems and would recommend them to anyone in metro areas like I am.
