Turns Out There’s A Linux Car Too

Gizmodo AU

In response to this morning’s Google Car post, tipster George sent through a pic of this Mercedes with Linux licence plates. Considering the Merc would cost a lot more than the Holden, does that mean that Linux is better than Google?

On a more serious note, anybody know who owns this car? Would love to have a chat with them. Also the Google licence plate car owners. And if somebody’s sitting on WINDOS, APPLE or SYMBYN, let me know.

[Thanks George!]

I’d be interested to know which AU state this car is registered in. I have the Queensland LINUX plate and I have a photo of the NSW vehicle taken on the Harbour Bridge, and it is not a Merc. Perhaps the NSW owner has upgraded.

There is also the LINUX plate in Alice Springs, N.T.

    Cheers, Andrew.

Hah! Dead serious, I have met this guy, I even have his business card around somewhere.

He’s a businessmen who was apparently on the early bandwagon to import and distribute boxed versions of Redhat back in the day. Awesome!
