I spent about half an hour playing around with Google Buzz yesterday before I switched it off. I hated the fact that you got an email every time someone commented on an update you made or commented on. I hated the fact that there was no simple chronological ordering – the post with the latest comment went to the top, not just the latest post. And I hated the fact that it tried to drag me in a third “status update” direction – Twitter and Facebook are more than enough for me. But what about you guys?
How many of you are sticking Buzz out? How many are actually enjoying it? And how many of you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about? Let us know in comments.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 3:03 PMSticking it out for now, though totally agree on your “third status update” point. Wouldn’t go as far as to say i’m deriving enjoyment or pleasure from using it.
Still erring to facebook+twitter+foursquare solution.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 4:01 PMI had a rudimentary look, but I don’t think I’ll use it for the same reasons I don’t use Facebook. From what I hear of the usability of FB, if I did use it I don’t think I see anything that would make me switch.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 4:12 PMHaven’t even bothered looking. If I want facebook functionality I use facebook, twitter I use twitter, mail I use Gmail.
Having these all seperate if anything makes my life less confusing.
Only about 10 of my facebook friends are actually in my Gmail contacts as I don’t speak to them regularly. Or if I do, I use the facebook messaging system.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 4:23 PMI still don’t even see a need for facebook. As for twitter, who gives a shit what you are doing? if I want to know I’ll ask. And now buzz? Google, you are just starting to piss me off with your antics.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 4:57 PMI use gmail for a small business with friends and whilst it’s perfect for this, we desperately needed something for general chit chat and Buzz seems to be perfect for that.
I can’t see why else I would use it though.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 5:45 PMI am waiting for it to be available to Google Apps users. Also, I have a HTC Magic which seems to be incompatible with the web app.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 6:04 PMCan’t stand Facebook myself, so Buzz makes only a second status update point. Enjoying it so far :)

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 6:13 PMNot a fan of it yet. Looks like tech without a reason. Against: email bloat, ugly logo in my gmail, no use for it and contact list privacy. For: ?

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 7:29 PMI think this is google’s sad attempt at trying to copy rather than innovate.
But then again, facebook is planning their own version of gmail built-in to their site.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 8:34 PMYeah, I’m using it. I live in gmail, and most of the people I connect with are all using it too, so for me it’s a natural extension. Why use FB when I can do what I need in Google Buzz :^)
Besides, I have a severe dislike of Facebook.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 9:15 PMI’m liking the fact that it integrates nicely with Google Reader (which I love and use religiously). Other than that, I’m finding it alright I guess. Neither good nor bad. I’m going to brave further ridicule from friends and family and continue using it for now. :P
Oh, and +1 for email notification hatred >.<

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:25 PMI like the fact Buzz can aggregate across multiple service channels. Let me see twitter, facebook and all my other stuff in one place like I already do with Reader for my feeds. Interface needs some polish though.

Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:43 PMSeems OK to me. Considering I was already using Google Reader and Twitter & Facebook it’s nice to be able to share stuff in yet another way.
Not happy that they insist on your full name on the public profile in order to use buzz.
I already have it set up that Twitter updates Facebook, and now Twitter updates Buzz.
It’d be easier if Buzz could also update Twitter (or rather, instead of… we don’t need an infinite loop), as then I could just have Gmail logged in and not bother with extra Twitter applications etc.

Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:17 AMI like the fact that it integrates into gmail and appears to be less crap-ridden then facebook. only real issue is that all my friends are still stuck using hotmail; so won’t even know that buzz exists, let alone use it!
