There’s something about ATI Engineering’s logo, as spotted by reader bammac on a recent trip to Napier in New Zealand, that looks vaguely familiar. I can’t quite put my finger on it… Wait a minute! I’ve got it! It’s the apple up dotting the ‘I’! Man, I bet Cupertino are gonna let their lawyers run wild with this one…
And if Apple don’t, then that little company ATI might. The similarities are pretty strong:

Also, what does engineering have to do with apples and grapes?

Their products appear to be directed towards the horticulture industry, so the fruit makes sense, but the rest is virtually a carbon copy!

Even more similarities when you compare it to the original ati logo:

I would agree, while it bares some resemblance to the current logo, the previous one appears to be what they’ve nicked.
But really, who cares. I doubt they’re trying to use ATI’s brand recognition in the computer realm for their particular industry of operation.

what does this say about the company if they can’t even come up with an original logo. they are an engineering company, there must be at least one brain there capable of coming up with something original if they are too cheap to get one done properly.
i hate unoriginal logos.

Almost as funny as companies who use MS Publisher Clip Art as their logo (the pyramid that’s shaded on the left side and solid black on the right side.

There are some better examples of copied logos out there.
Check this out.
