Vodafone Drops Price Of Prepaid Mobile Internet
On top of checking out Lifehacker’s guide to mobile broadband, if you’re in the market for a mobile broadband plan, you should know that Vodafone’s just dropped the price of their prepaid starter pack to $129. That gets you a USB modem plus 2GB of data if you pick it up before the end of September (after that you’ll just get 500MB).

SYDNEY – July 27, 2009 –Vodafone Australia has upped the ante in the Prepaid Mobile Broadband# market, dropping the price of its Prepaid Mobile Broadband Starter Pack^ to $129 (was $149).
Vodafone’s Prepaid Mobile Broadband Starter Pack^ comes with a stylish USB modem internet stick and, if customers activate their Starter Pack^ between 22 July 2009 and 30 September 2009, they will also receive a huge 2GB of included data (normally 500MB included data).
Vodafone Prepaid Mobile Broadband customers can purchase Prepaid Mobile Broadband recharges for $19 (500MB), $29 (1GB) or $49 (3GB). Plus, unused data can be rolled over if customers recharge within 30 days of connection or their last recharge.

The only thing stopping me personally doing this is that you have to use the data within 30 days. If they changed it to 6 months… I suspect they wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demand…
I had similar thoughts. A prepaid mobile internet connection would be very handy for me but not quite frequently enough for me to do this just yet. Even 60 days would be enough though :)
My thoughts as well. Indeed at first it looked to me as though there was a 12 months sign up for using 2 x 500 MB for $38 – see below. This was via the cnet Australia site. But Vodafone tell me it isn’t true. Pity.
