A lot of us are still scratching our heads over Disney's decision to spend millions of dollars building Pandora — The World of Avatar in its Animal Kingdom park, especially with Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening so soon. But at least the themed area, which is celebrating its one year anniversary, led to the creation of one of Disney's most advanced (and seriously impressive) audio-animatronic characters: the Shaman of Songs.

Disney's foundation may have been built on animation, but these days, Disney is powered by franchises. Though we're still a few years away from seeing James Cameron's Avatar back on the big screen, 2017 will start to ease the franchise back into popular culture. The better part of a decade has passed since audiences last visited the world of James Cameron's Avatar. Now, with a new set of films coming, the franchise has slowly begun to return to the mainstream. There's a Cirque du Soleil show touring, a Disney theme park coming soon and they have just announced an interactive museum exhibition.
