The great thing about conventions is everyone has their own experience. For example, we did a tour of the Star Wars booth at New York Comic Con and certainly thought it was cool. But later in the weekend, some unsuspecting attendees got a much, much different experience.

Predicting the future is near impossible -- but that doesn‘t stop us all from having a red hot go. Human beings have been predicting the future since the beginning of history and the results range from the hilarious to the downright uncanny.

One thing all future predictions have in common: they‘re rooted in our current understanding of how the world works. It‘s difficult to escape that mindset. We have no idea how technology will evolve, so our ideas are connected to the technology of today.

Amazon is really looking to makes Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, its upcoming scifi anthology series, more cinematic than episodic. At "The World of Philip K. Dick" panel at New York Comic Con (which covered both Electric Dreams and The Man in the High Castle), the producers emphasised how the show is far more like a series of films than a television show.

I'll admit, I went into the New York Comic Con premiere of Once Upon a Time's seventh season hoping for little and expecting even less. But much to my surprise, the new story is good. It's dynamic and interesting, with actors who are giving their all to a different twist on a familiar tale. The only problem is that the new Once Upon a Time has three painful reminders of what the show used to be, and they don't fit in this new story any more.
