Lest your Droid fall out of date, into disrepair, and end up on a Jawa Sandcrawler, MyDroidWorld is serving up a new Android 2.2 ROM, along with full instructions, for bringing your phone up to speed. Apparently it's got everything except for Wi-Fi, so if you're hankering for that Froyo, it's well worth a look. As always, proceed with caution; there's nothing worse than a dead Droid.
What a pleasant surprise. TechCrunch's MG Siegler went to plug in his Nexus One last night and, lo and behold, he found an unexpected Froyo treat waiting for him. Not all Nexus One users are seeing the bump yet, but it does seem that Google's starting to roll out the Android 2.2 update on its own phone first. Figures.
There's plenty to get excited about in Android 2.2 AKA Froyo, but HTC offered some not very surprising reassurance to people who bought their most recent handsets, including the Droid Incredible, the EVO, the Desire, or, soon, the myTouch Slide—you will probably get Froyo! Android Central reached out to HTC and got this response.
