Sony has a thing for massive, massively powerful phones. Its 5.5-inch Xperia XZ Premium has a brand new chipset under the hood, just like Samsung’s Galaxy S8, and that means it’s one of the first phones capable at downloading at 1000Mbps over 4G.
Sony actually has a top-end smartphone now. Learning from the stumbles of the rocky six month transition between the venerable Z Series phones and the Xperia X Performance, the new Xperia XZ brings back a little bit of finesse into Sony’s smartphone design.
Sony’s new Xperia X series of smartphones will start to become available in Australia on 29th June at “all the usual suspects”, with pricing still to be determined. And because Sony loves its movies, there’s also a bonus from Sony Pictures if and when you pick one up.
