In case you missed it, last week was ‘Triple Force Friday’ the third iteration of the now-biennial event that saw the release of countless new Star Wars-themed toys and tie-in products. And of all the Star Wars-themed that that’s been released, I never thought I’d see the franchise license itself out to a company that makes cookware.
Le Creuset has just announced a whole range of Star Wars-themed cookware, which are set to be released on November 1 exclusively online or at the company’s own chain of shops. See for yourself:

I’m a little bewildered to be honest, but I suppose there are plenty of geeks out there who love to cook, and would be ecstatic to have a roasting dish that features Han Solo’s carbonite form. I’m not entirely sure about the Porg pie bird, though. How many people use them these days? And how much of an overlap is there between them and Star Wars fans? I guess we’ll have to see.
The tweet announcing this stuff came from Le Creuset South Africa, which puts the local availability into question, but I seriously doubt this stuff would be geographically restricted to a single country. So expect more international announcements, and hopefully some actual pricing, soon.
Though I’m sure my mum would be thrilled with a BB-8 or R2-D2 cocotte. Here’s just hoping they’re not too expensive.
