Google Street View Now Has Panoramas Of The Northern Territory’s Most Stunning Parks

Today, the Northern Territory celebrate’s Territory Day, where everyone cracks out the fireworks and launches pretty explosions into the sky, in recognition of NT’s 40 years of self-governance. For 2018, Tourism NT is capitalising on the festivities, releasing Google Street View panoramas of the territory’s natural landmarks.

Nine views are available via GSV, with the following parks and landmarks recognised:

  • Watarrka National Park
  • The Lost City, Limmen National Park
  • Simpsons Gap
  • Larapinta Trail
  • Nitmiluk National Park
  • Litchfield National Park
  • Finke Gorge National Park
  • Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park
  • Charles Darwin National Park

The panoramas capture plenty of detail, including the ground at your virtual feet, complete with blurry distortion.

Of course, the images themselves don’t do these views justice, but it’s as good as you can get, short of taking a trip to NT yourself. Which, I suspect, was Tourism NT’s cunning plan all along.
