How To Build A Tiny TV Ornament That Plays Classic ’90s Commercials

Despite what all the holiday specials try to tell you, it’s pointless to pretend that Christmas has become anything other than commercialism’s annual time to shine. So why not just embrace the spirit of spending completely, and build yourself a tiny working television Christmas tree ornament that streams ’90s commercials from YouTube?

This DIY project comes courtesy of Sean Hodgins, who walks you through all the intricacies of the build in this 12-minute YouTube video. If the most complex thing you’ve built this month is a gingerbread house the local inspectors will probably condemn, this project might not be for you. But if you’ve got access to a 3D printer, and know your way around a circuit board, Hodgins has also put together a detailed Instructable that includes a parts list and the requisite code to take your Christmas tree to the next level.
