The ladies of Mystery Incorporated don’t need that stupid dog any more. Warner Bros. has announced that its digital studio Blue Ribbon Content is working on Daphne and Velma, a live-action film starring the women of Scooby Doo.

According to Warner Bros., production is already underway on the movie, which will star Sarah Jeffery (Wayward Pines, and soon to guest star in the next season of The X-Files) and Sarah Gilman (Last Man Standing) as Daphne and Velma. The movie takes place before Velma and Daphne have met up with the rest of the Scooby gang. They play mystery-solving high school BFFs who’ve only met online, until Daphne transfers to Velma’s high-tech high school, Ridge Valley High. The pair start investigating why some of the school’s best students are disappearing, only to come back as zombies.
Daphne and Velma is being produced by Ashley Tisdale and Jennifer Tisdale’s Blondie Girl Productions. It’s set to be released on home video sometime in 2018.
