A charity play sparks even more wild speculation about Avengers 4. Jessica Chastain wants in on the It sequel. Supergirl casts another member of the Legion of Superheroes, while The Gifted has cast some very sinister comic book twins. Plus, a new Justice League scene, and a snippet of footage from the CW/DC crossover. Behold, spoilers!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
In an interview with Disney Rewards Insider, Mark Hamill confirmed Luke has “lost confidence in his ability to make good choices”, but hasn’t turned to the dark side.
In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ Luke has lost confidence in his ability to make good choices. It haunts him to the core. But he hasn’t gone to the dark side. This isn’t an evil version of him. But it’s still an incarnation of the character I never expected. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s a real challenge.
It: Chapter 2
In an interview with Screen Rant promoting Molly’s Game, Jessica Chastain stated she’s interested in playing the sequel’s adult incarnation of Beverly.
Well, I love Andy [Muschietti] and Barbara [Muschietti]. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so…we’ll see. Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.
In the same interview, Idris Elba interjected, “Get me in! I love that movie!”
Avengers 4
Frank Grillo happens to appear dead centre in a cast photo from Robert Downey, Jr’s Instagram promoting a charity production of Our Town in Atlanta, where the fourth Avengers movie is currently filming – a production which just also happens to co-star fellow Avengers 4 actors Scarlet Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and RDJ himself.
Naturally, it’s sparked a wave of speculation that somehow the very-much-exploded Crossbones will return to the MCU, which Grillo has confusingly both hinted at and then denied multiple times in the past, so make of it what you will here.
Aquaman
Speaking to Comicbook.com, Jason Momoa stated Aquaman enjoys a “Star Wars quality of gigantic ships and guys riding sharks”. Remember all those guys riding sharks in Star Wars? Me neither.
Surpassing Justice League, this moment in time is his call to become king. The only thing that can save Atlantis is me fighting my own brother. There’s a big battle, and there’s an epic [fight]. It’s also a big road movie, because we travel all over the world. It’s got that Star Wars quality of gigantic ships and guys riding sharks. It’s going to be this whole world you’ve never seen before. You’re going to see him start as this guy who probably rides bikes, works on cars. You get to see him this one way as kind of a dirty, dark, drunkard, and then turn into this regal king.
Jungle Cruise
In an interview with Screen Rant, visual effects artist Jake Morrison compared Disney’s upcoming Jungle Cruise to the company’s original film series based on a theme park ride, Pirates of the Caribbean.
When I read the script, it’s a bit like how I felt when I first watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean. It’s got that kind of really fun, really cool, you know Mr Dwayne Johnson’s going to deliver the goods – he’s reliably charismatic, and we’re going to be doing a lot of practical stuff. It’s really exciting.
Justice League
Martha Kent reveals to Lois she’s sold the Kent farmhouse in a new clip premiering on the Today show (it starts around 0:47 in the video below). In the subsequent interview, Diane Lane states she was “really impressed” with how well Justice League turned out.
Flashpoint
Ben Fritz of the Wall Street Journal revealed Warner Bros. is “close to hiring a director” for the solo Flash film, contrary to recent rumours that the studio is pausing its search to see how people react to Justice League.

The Gifted
Meanwhile, The Gifted has cast Caitlin Mehner and Paul Cooper as the original Von Strucker twins, Andrea and Andreas.

Crisis on Earth-X
Finally, the CW has released a quick new promo for their massive Arrow/The Flash/Supergirl/Legends of Tomorrow crossover event. Heroes assemble! Nazis are kneed in the face! It’s the most exciting 10 seconds you’ll see until they inevitably release an actual trailer!
