Netflix, ‘Deeply Troubled’ About Kevin Spacey Allegations, Cancels ‘House Of Cards’

House of Cards will end after its next season, Netflix has confirmed.

The news comes just one day after the show’s star, Kevin Spacey, was accused of making sexual advances towards a then 14 year old Anthony Rapp, of Star Trek: Discovery.

Here’s the full statement from Netflix on the events:

Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.

Rapp revealed details of the 1986 incident in an interview with Buzzfeed. Spacey was in his mid-20’s at the time.

Spacey’s response to the allegations has been widely criticised.
