The Fantastic Beasts sequel casts another villain. Karin Koroval is returning to The X-Files, but not in the way you’re probably expecting. The Flash promises a cerebral component to its new big bad. Plus, what’s to come on Star Trek: Discovery, and new looks at Blade Runner 2049. To me, my spoilers!
Avengers 4
Hayley Atwell has sparked much speculation after posting a photo to her Instagram of her face covered in motion-capture dots, leading some to assume that it’s for an appearance as Peggy Carter, alongside seemingly every other actor to have appeared in a Marvel movie for Infinity War and Avengers 4.
The motion capture for a flashback appearance would make sense, as it’s how previous Marvel films have “aged” Atwell for appearances before Peggy’s death during the opening of Civil War. But Atwell took to the comments of the post to vehemently deny that the filming was for Avengers, instead stating it’s for the currently-in-production Christopher Robin movie.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters
A new set photo from director Mike Dougherty has been posted to Twitter, giving a brief look at the king of all kaiju in digital action.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
The Last Jedi has wrapped filming, according to Rian Johnson on Instagram.

Likewise, Emilia Clarke has wrapped filming on Ron Howard’s Han Solo spinoff.

Gambit
Splash Report claims to have a synopsis of the film, which will include Mr Sinister and a heist at the Louvre — take this all with a pinch of salt for now though, given that the film seems to barely in a stage of pre-production at this point.
Remy Lebeau (Channing Tatum) is on trial in New Orleans. He’s considered a huge security risk. We flashback to almost 25 years before. Master thief Luke Lebeau runs into eight-year-old Gambit while doing a heist. Impressed by his skills, he offers to take the mutant orphan under his wings. Raised alongside other strays he calls “cousins”, the teenage Gambit becomes the superstar of the Thief Guild. He encounters Bella Donna Boudreaux while on the run from the police. Sparks immediately fly since Bella is also a fellow mutant. Their love is directly prohibited by both families since the Boudreaux are sworn enemies of the Lebeau clan. Deciding to unite the two sides, Remy offers to have the two clans team up on a HUGE heist to profit both families. Of course, the whole plan goes awry, and in the chaos, Maryanne Boudreaux shoots and kill Luke Lebeau.
We jump to 10 years later; Gambit is hired to do a job in Paris to steal something from the Louvre Museum. It was apparently a test job to see if he still has it. His mysterious employer is revealed to be Nathaniel Essex a.k.a. Mr. Sinister. He offers Gambit 40 million to recover a mysterious trunk that was stolen by the Boudreaux clan. It will be auctioned off during the yearly Thieves Ball where all the criminal organisations in the world meet up. It uses New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations as a cover. Gambit decides to enlist a crew of mutants to pull off this seemingly impossible heist…
Thor: Ragnarok
In an interview with Total Film magazine, Mark Ruffalo briefly discussed Hulk’s time on Sakaar before the events of the film:

Karin Koroval, who played Mrs Peacock in the notoriously grody 1996 episode “Home”, will return for “multiple roles” this season — though not as the quadriplegic Ma Peacock. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Carter revealed:
While Karen Konoval won’t be reprising her role as the mother-under-the-bed in the fan-favourite episode ‘Home,’ she will be returning in a tour-de-force performance in an early episode. Or, more accurately — performances.

Mark Bonnar has joined the cast as Neil Sommer, “an intriguingly charming scientist on a government commission with whom Laura develops a strong personal connection” according to AMC. [Spoiler TV]
Z Nation
Here’s the synopsis for this week’s season premiere of Z-Nation, “Warren’s Dream”.
Warren’s Apocalyptic Dream of a Black Rainbow sends our heroes on a mysterious new mission to save the Apocalypse from something even worse. Warren awakens from a Coma to find herself in ZONA two years later, with Murphy seemingly cured, and the rest of our heroes either dead or fighting for their lives against unkillable “MAD-Z’s” caused by an evolving Zombie Virus.
Outlander
And here’s the synopsis for next week’s episode of Outlander, “Of Lost Things”.
Jamie is pulled into intrigue while serving as a groomsman at Helwater; in 1968, Claire, Brianna and Roger struggle to trace Jamie’s whereabouts, leaving Clarie to wonder if they will ever find him.
The Flash
Speaking with TV Line, producer Tod Helbing revealed there will be a heavy “psychological component” this season as the Flash and STAR Labs take on The Thinker.
[Clifford Devoe] literally is the smartest guy on the planet, so there’s a lot of chess pieces that he’s moving around simultaneously. As our team is figuring out who he is and what they think the plan is, there’s a lot of fun [as we] show the audience information and then have our team catch up to that information or surpass it. It’s a big mystery.
Star Trek: Discovery
Sonequa Martin-Green revealed there will indeed be flashbacks to Spock’s childhood this season on Star Trek: Discovery.
There are flashbacks, yes, yes, yes.
I can be brutally honest and say I think it is quite genius the way that they have weaved me into that story. And it is something that seems very normal when you see it. It makes so much sense. It’s not what you’d expect, but it does make sense.
