Though most of the amazing fight scenes in today's big budget movies would be nearly impossible to create without them, we really don't appreciate the incredible skill and artistry that stunt people bring to the big screen.
If you've watched the second season of Daredevil, then you've seen Lauren Mary Kim in action as Élodie Yung's stunt double for fight scenes involving Elektra. Last week, Kim took to her Instagram with a question for fans of Marvel's movies: who would win in a fight between the MCU's Black Widow and Elektra?
Rather than merely letting the question hang as a hypothetical, Kim got together with fellow stuntwoman Amy Johnston, who, along with Scarlett Johansson, portrayed Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the two duked it out in a badass, choreographed fight routing.
Unlike the performers' fight scenes in films — which are often edited in ways that purposefully make it somewhat difficult to follow the flow of the fight so that we don't realise we're not looking at the principal actors — you can clearly see the steps that Kim and Johnston have planned out. But the fight itself doesn't look staged so much as it does controlled and calculated. The women are absolute professionals and it shows. As to who wins the fight, well you'll just have to watch and find out.
So...here is my ANSWER to who would win if #ELEKTRA fought #BLACKWIDOW in Entry #3 of my KALI DIARIES series. Huge thanks to the ridic talented @amyejohnston who was one of Black Widow's stunt doubles, @sloyerstunts - Fight coordinating, Camera and Editing and Tsuyoshi Abe -Fight Choreography.
