Ant-Man And The Wasp Is Taking A Page From Honey, I Shrunk The Kids

Ant-Man and the Wasp is coming out in July 2018 — two months after Avengers: Infinity War. Knowing that, as well as the fact that it’s going to bring Wasp into the MCU, you assume it’s going to be huge. And “huge” is exactly what you’ll see in a hilarious new photo.

Director Peyton Reed is currently prepping to shoot the sequel, and just tweeted this awesome photo.

Yes, that is a giant pair of scissors and a giant pencil, all but confirming that a scene in the film will include some kind of office or desk. Spoilers!

What’s most interesting about this, though, is that for most of the scenes in the first Ant-Man when Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) had to shrink, the effect was done with a mix of computer graphics and macro photography. Tiny cameras would film actual-sized, real life objects, and then Rudd’s character would be CG’d into that footage. It seems like, for the sequel, some of the sets may be a little more Honey, I Shrunk the Kids than that. Maybe that’s so Disney can make an Ant-Man area at a theme park in the future.

Ant-Man and the Wasp, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas, opens 5 July 2018.
