Orlando Bloom Is Looking Very Crusty In New Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Footage

After a couple of trailers and teasers, a behind-the-scenes video that revealed Will Turner’s son, and news that Orlando Bloom would be back as Will in the fifth pirates movie, we finally have a good look at him. And things have gone wrong.

So, for those of you who don’t remember the plot of he last two movies (and you shouldn’t; I am, however, broken inside by love of this franchise), the deal was that Will Turner “died” in the third movie, At World’s End. They saved him by making him the new captain of the Flying Dutchman, the ship tasked with ferrying those lost at sea to the afterlife.

He has that job because one of the villains of the second and third movies was Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), who turned into a octopus-faced thing because he ignored that duty for the sake of pursuing revenge. And ignoring his job lead to the crew of the Dutchman all getting that… coral and barnacle look. You know, kind of like the one Will has in this new footage?

And, actually, it’s one that a lot of the pirates have. Something has clearly gone wrong on the Dutchman. Feel free to posit your theories — I’m going with Captain Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem) leading a mutiny.
