In case you missed it last week, Samsung officially took the wraps off its new Galaxy S8. It’ll be out at the end of the month, giving you a solid four weeks to choose your allegiance: are you with House Telstra or House Vodafone? House Optus or House Virgin? Or will you pledge your credit card to one of the smaller upstarts?
Woolworths Mobile
For the first time during the launch of one of Samsung’s flagship phones, Woolworths Mobile will have its hands on a bunch of Galaxy S8 and S8+ handsets, and its plans are pretty tempting. Running on the Telstra 4G network, Woolies’ Medium plans are very cheap for the amount of data they include and for the relatively low handset repayment cost. You can pick up a GS8 with 4GB of data for just $65 a month: not bad.
Amaysim
This is also Amaysim’s first ever handset launch, and it’s shaping up to be a big one for the budget carrier too. Pivoting away from just selling you SIMs alone Amaysim runs on Optus’ mobile network, Amaysim will now sell you a 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 or the larger 6.2-inch S8+, unlocked, at its outright price — and it’ll sweeten the deal even more than getting the phone itself on launch day (or before).
Even better is the fact that if you sign up to pre-order the Galaxy S8 or S8+ through Amaysim — as well as getting the free Gear VR headset — you’ll score yourself three recharges on any of Amaysim’s Unlimited data plans. That could be worth up to $150 to you, netting you 9GB of data a month and unlimited calls and texts for three whole months.
