Video: Universal’s latest reboot of its classic monsters involves Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and Russell Crowe’s hilarious haircut facing a vengeful mummy, played by Sofia Boutella (Star Trek: Beyond.)

This teaser is very, very short, but I do love that it contains the most important part of any monster movie: Having the main character insist that the creature in title of the movie is real. Also, it has Tom Cruise underwater.
In addition to the trailer, we also have a poster with a wonderful close-up of the Mummy’s sarcophagus. It looks a lot more ominous and a lot less colourful than the images that usually spring to mind when that word comes up:
In addition to Cruise, Boutella and Crowe, The Mummy cast includes Annabelle Wallis (she’s the blonde running away from things with Cruise in the teaser), Jake Johnson (The New Girl) and Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson). The movie is due out 8 June 2017.
