If there’s any one constant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (other than the, literally, dozens of constants within the several-year narrative), it’s that we’re guaranteed to get a Stan Lee cameo. However, as one webcomic-turned-comic book points out, those cameos have a dark side. One that will bring out the Stan Lee in all of us, whether we like it or not.

Digital artist elFury recently released a completed print and digital version of The Final Cameo, starring “The Ubiquitous Stan Lee.” It definitely takes a journey from the adorable into the deranged. I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s adorably bizarre. The original webcomic is from earlier this year, but elFury recently fleshed out the story with some new panels and is selling the full print version on Etsy. You can also read the entire comic for free on Imgur, because she’s nice like that.

Stan Lee’s believed to have cameos in at least three future Marvel films. He’s also appeared on anime, mobile video games, and tons of other marketing and cross-promotional materials. There are even rumours of a 1970s action film starring a young Stan Lee. The man is amazing, but we’ve gotten a bit of fatigue over the years, so it’s nice to read a comic that recognises the overkill and turns it on its head. Still, there will come a day when there can be no more Stan Lee cameos. And on that day, I will cry. [Imgur]
