It almost feels like Google is pumping out new iterations of the Chromecast faster than people can buy them. While that’s not actually the case, no one would blame Chromecast 2 owners for passing on the upcoming Ultra. If you do want an Ultra though, you might want to drop into your local Officeworks. Whether it’ll sell you one or not is another question entirely.
The office supplies chain apparently has stock of the Ultra right now and a price — $99 as expected — according to Ausdroid’s Alex Dennis.
Citing “named sources”, Dennis goes on to mention that although physical units are available, there’s “no ETA … for when you will be actually able to get one in store”.
I know, not the news you were hoping to hear. Still, it can’t hurt to visit your local outlet and ask. You might get lucky.
