Mute is the title of a movie director Duncan Jones has been talking about for some time. Since 2009, to be exact. Well, it turns out he's finally going to start shooting the film next week -- and in announcing so, he revealed a curious nugget.

Jones confirmed on Twitter that Mute connects to his debut film, Moon. It's also the second part in a kind of trilogy that started with Moon. and will likely end with another scifi film to come in the future.
How exactly Mute will relate to Moon, we don't know. But Moon takes place over a long period of time, so maybe there's some mention of the company Sam Rockwell's character works for in the film? Or the cloning process it involved?
Mute stars Alexander Skarsgard and Paul Rudd and was described last year as follows:
Berlin. Forty years from today. A roiling city of immigrants, where East crashes against West in a science-fiction Casablanca. Leo Beiler (Skarsgard), a mute bartender has one reason and one reason only for living here, and she's disappeared. But when Leo's search takes him deeper into the city's underbelly, an odd pair of American surgeons (led by Rudd) seem to be the only recurring clue, and Leo can't tell if they can help, or who he should fear most.
Jones also revealed a new look at the film on his Twitter.

Mute does not yet have a release date, but sometime in late 2017 seems like a good guess. We hope it was worth the wait.
