Photos Of Rumoured ZenWatch 3 Look Pretty Steampunk: Report

ASUS is gearing up for another smartwatch release to follow up on last year’s ZenWatch 2. Rather than go down the common path with a sleek and futuristic design, these photos suggest the ZenWatch 3 will embrace a retro aesthetic.

According to ePrice, the images are reportedly sourced from a filing with China’s National Communications Commission. While they don’t show a great many details, they do confirm a few things, such as the rounded design and three-button configuration.

It also looks, how can I put this… steampunk-esque? Sure, it’s probably a prototype and no entirely indicative of the final device, but man, I totally dig the style. There’s something to be said for mechanical and chunky, though you don’t want it to look like a Fallout-style Pip-Boy.
