It is a truly extraordinary day for Apple Music subscribers. According to an Instagram post by Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, the label has made "a power move" with Apple Music. He posted a picture over the weekend with Apple music executive Larry Jackson announcing the news, and reposted the photo today with a link to a Music Business Worldwide article about the alleged deal. Larry Jackson also posted the same photo with the caption:
Check one off of the bucket list ✔️... Signed as an R&B crooner to Ca$h Money yesterday. My life is oh so complete now. ???????????? Welcome to the fam @birdman5star. Tough negotiator. Much respeck. ✊????
No more information on this deal has been released. Apple already has deals with specific Cash Money artists, releasing Drake's Views earlier this year.
Last month, a person you might have heard of named Kanye West expressed his desire for Apple to buy Tidal on his Twitter account.
We've reached out to Apple but had not yet heard back at time of writing.
