During a Facebook Live interview earlier this week, Warner Brothers toured the new DC Universe: The Exhibit, and might have accidentally revealed the identity of Batman v Superman's Robin.
In the video, the tour guide takes viewers into the exhibit, and points off to the side, noting that the costumes on display are the ones from the film, and that the Robin costume seen in the film was worn by Jason Todd.
Now, this bit of information coming from a tour guide is a bit suspect: it could be his assumption, but if it is, it's a weirdly specific one.
Todd was the second Robin, who took up the mantle after Dick Grayson in the comics. After becoming Robin, Todd would later be killed off by The Joker (at the hands of comic book readers, who voted in a telephone poll). This could be significant for the DC Cinematic Universe: the Joker is slated to appear in Suicide Squad later this summer, and a Batman film is coming a bit further down the road.
If the character is indeed Todd, it points to some established relationship between the Leto's Joker and Ben Affleck's Batman, but also opens the possibility towards another hero somewhere down the line: Red Hood.
This all predicates on this reveal being accurate: it could very well be a slip up from the folks behind the exhibition.
