NASA Captured Today's Solar Eclipse From Start To Finish

Video: The solar eclipse has just finished in the skies above Australia. Working with the National Science Foundation, NASA captured the eclipse from start to finish. If you haven't seen one before, this is what they look like (hint: dark!).

Visible from northern Australia, Indonesia and a few other islands in the Pacific, this was the only total solar eclipse for 2016.


    Surely it can't just be coincidence that our moon is visually exactly the same size as the sun. The sun of course is millions of times bigger than the moon but why the perfect fit in the sky?
