If buying a car all seems a little too complex, relax: you can now walk straight up to a five-storey vending machine to choose your new set of wheels, as if it were a gigantic candy bar.
You’re looking at a new kind of car dealership that’s been built by Carvana. Featuring a series of robots, a stack of 20 cars and three separate delivery bays, it’s claimed you can be driving away in your new ride in 20 minutes or less. The new car vending machine can be found just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and you can check it out in the video and images below.
It may not surprise you to hear that the vending machine aspect is somewhat of a gimmick. You pay for the car as you would any other — but you are given a giant shiny coin with which to kick-start the process of the robot arms delivering it to you.
It’s not the first example of automated car delivery — VolksWagen has a far larger, more impressive version — but it is quite fun. Whether it’s worth a trip to the US plus shipping all the way home? That’s up to you.
