Come on, man. Is this even allowed? How is it fair that crocodiles can just shoot up — like, completely mother effing vertical — out of the water like this? I'm totally ok with them swim lurking and then chomping down on the surface of the water or the shore but this is just not right. This guy is basically flying, he's living on a different plane than the rest of us.
We all have to thank (or really, to curse) the tails of the crocs for giving them this ridiculous superpower. The video was taken by National Geographic photographer Trevor Frost.
Friends, sorry it took me a day longer to get this video out to you; I was on a one day assignment for @sciencemagazine and had limited access to Internet. But here it is!!! Crocodiles have incredibly strong tails. Their tails propel them in the water like torpedoes from a submarine. In fact, as you see here, their tails are so strong that they can propel their entire body out of the water. Crocodiles are so cool. Stay tuned for more amazing crocodile photos and videos. @eddiebauer #liveyouradventure
