Quickflix Tells Customers Not To Upgrade To iOS 9: ‘We’re Not Ready Yet’

Things just keep going from bad to worse for Quickflix. With deals falling through left and right and the company’s shares still in a trading halt on the Australian Stock Exchange, the service is now telling its Apple customers not to update to iOS 9. The reason? Quickflix isn’t ready yet.

In an email to customers this morning, Quickflix said that updating to iOS 9 would see the streaming service break on Apple devices.

Here’s the email:

iOS 9 is just around the corner for all Apple devices. We wanted to let you know that for the time being, you won’t be able to Playback using the Quickflix streaming app. But fear not! Our super nerds are working away at an update that will be released really soon.

In the meantime, you can connect and stream on any of your other devices. Click below to connect a few more if you’ve got them, to tide you over.

No other devices? No worries. You can choose not to update to iOS9 on your Apple device if you want to and keep streaming through our app. We will let you know as soon as we have our update ready to go. But we’ll leave that totally up to you!

We will be sure to keep you posted.

Your friends at Quickflix

Quickflix isn’t the only Australian streaming service that has issues with iOS 9: Dendy Direct has also warned customers not to update in a post on its Facebook page:

Attention all Dendy Direct customers who use the Dendy Direct Player App. Apple is due to release iOS 9 tomorrow, and you may receive a notification on your iPhone or iPad to upgrade. Please be advised that the Dendy Direct Player App is currently not compatible with iOS 9. This means if you upgrade your iPhone or iPad, content purchased or rented through Dendy Direct will not be playable on your device. The good news is that we are working night and day to get our fabulous new iOS 9 compatible apps ready on the App Store in the next 3 weeks! Please note as the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus ship with iOS 9, you will not be able to use the Dendy Direct Player on these devices. We apologise for the inconvenience. Note this issue only affects iPhone and iPad users. Those using Dendy Direct on their Android devices, a computer or Samsung TV will remain unaffected. If you’ve got any questions about this upgrade and how it will affect your Dendy Direct experience, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

So if you’re streaming on either of these services and keen to update tomorrow to iOS 9, watch out!
