When the Apple Watch first debuted, we were promised a premium retail experience — specially trained staff, swanky new stores, watches that were ‘fitted’ rather than just tried on. Well, according to the WSJ, all that is about to change.
Starting in August, the Apple Watch will be available in 100 Best Buy locations across the USA, with that number expanding to 300 stores by the time the holiday tech-buying orgy starts in November. The Watch Sport and regular Watch will be the only models available — no Apple Watch Edition, because people spending $US15,000 on a golden smartwatch don’t want to have to deal with Best Buy customer service.
We’re reaching out to Apple locally to see if there are plans for a third-party retailer release.
