If you have a love/hate relationship with emoji (or just hate), this 3D animation test by digital artist Alberto Moss might make you feel… happy? anxious? I don’t know, but there’s probably an emoji to describe it.
Particle systems are an essential way that animators make computer generated worlds look real. Complex physical interactions are simulated to create intricate scenes like crowds of people, spilling liquid or explosions. In this case, the tiny shapes, or sprites, acting as particles are the emoji we know so well. What you end up with is this bonkers eruption of feelings.
This also probably passes as an accurate model of Instagram comments at any given time. 🙂
