If you’re fortunate enough to have a drone in your possession, one of the fastest ways to have it taken away from you is to fly it near an airport. Australia’s aviation authority CASA, like many similar organisations around to world, prohibits drones being anywhere near commercial airliners. Talk to the right people, however, and you might be given a rare opportunity like this.
According to Michael Zhang over at PetaPixel, the nearly four-minute video was capture and produced by Postandfly, a company in Mexico that specialises in — you guessed it — aerial photography. It was allowed to capture some rather tight footage of Mexico International Airport via drone, apparently to “celebrate the [country’s] Air Traffic Control Agency”.
In terms of hardware, it was taken using a DJI F450 drone equipped with a Zenmuse H3-2D and a GoPro Hero 3 Black — proving that you can capture just about anything with a GoPro.
