Few movies rival the intensity — or duration — of the extended cuts of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. But you know, we don’t all have time to sit around developing carbuncles so obscene they’d make a trauma surgeon faint. When your moments (and unwounded body) are precious, you need clips like this one. Yes, it’s The Hobbit, the whole story, condensed into 72 seconds. Spoiler warning for those who haven’t read the book!
Oh, did I mention it’s all done entirely in LEGO? Well, it is. Put together by Brotherhood Workshop — composed of Kevin and Christopher Ulrich — the stop-motion production takes us through the entire narrative, though it trades accuracy for humour.
I doubt you’d be watching it expecting the feels, however.
If you want to know how it was made, the clip’s description mentions that a behinds-the-scenes video should arrive next week. If you can’t wait that long, take a trip to Kmart or Big W and grab a few LOTR-themed LEGO kits and make your own!
