This Is How Many Australians Can Get The NBN Now

Busy week for the NBN. Not only did we have a cost-benefit analysis of the new approach, we also have NBN Co’s financial results — and that gives us an update on how many Australians can actually connect to the NBN.

According to NBN Co, 553,000 Australians can now order an NBN service. Last year, that figure was 227,000 — which is a big improvement considering all the uncertainty we’ve seen with the NBN since the Coalition was elected. Of those premises, 210,000 have actually signed up. We are so judging the other 340,000-odd.

Work is “complete or in progress” to cover 1.4 million premises, which means 800,000 odd people can expect to get the NBN sooner rather than later.
