Briefly: San Diego Comic-Con is coming up, and that means we get to geek out for a whole week as new trailers, stills and panels show us the future of nerd entertainment! Ahead of the show, Marvel is teasing the first look at Avengers: Age Of Ultron with this Entertainment Weekly cover.
The cover shows off our favourite heroes, Captain America and Iron Man, as well as the named villain, Ultron.
We also get a look at Ultron’s robot army ahead of the Comic Con reveal.
Interestingly, the EW article reveals how the robo-baddie will fit into the Joss Whedon-version of the Marvel Universe:
For better or worse (trust us, it’s worse), his Tony Stark has devised a plan that won’t require him to put on the Iron Man suit anymore, and should allow Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Hulk to get some much needed R&R as well. His solution is Ultron, self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence designed to help assess threats, and direct Stark’s Iron Legion of drones to battle evildoers instead.
In the Marvel Comics, Ultron was built by Hank Pym (Antman), rather than Tony Stark. That’s cheating!
