This Gorgeous Office Has An Endless Desk Made By Robots

This gorgeous office has an endless desk made by robots

The idea behind the design was to have an endless table throughout the office that connects all the workers together. The table is made up of 870 unique plywood panels, 408 square metres of table surface and 335 metres of perimeter edge surface and was entirely shaped by robots.

The office belongs to The Barbarian Group and is located in New York. The designers had to adapt an existing 1858 square metre office space for a flexible community of 125-175 workers.

F that. I've worked in two places full open plan with adjoining desks and no partitions. So many more people catching each others sickness!

Macquarie Uni has one of these endless desks! It's great to follow along the whole thing and hear the different sounds at various points, since each sections is for different things just by being a different shape.

I suppose it's alight if you don't actually need to use a computer for work. I can't imagine setting up a 3 or 6 monitor workstation in one of those spaces.

mmm, OK on my desk I have:
1 Laptop/ with dock and USB hub
    2x 24" LCD/LCD screens
    1 Thin client
    2 keyboards, 1 Mouse 1 track pad.
Thermal ticket printer, Thermal label printer
CD drive, Floppy disk drive (YES I have one still)
    Desk phone, headset.
Motorola MC75 Dock, and MC75, MC55 Dock and MC55, a data logic Elf hand scanner.
    HDD dock, Bar code reader.
7" tablet, My phone and its dock.
And sometimes a Desktop that I'm re-imaging or/and a Laptop I'm working on or/and a Thermal ticket printer I'm working on, the occasional Cisco router or wifi AP
Not to mention textbooks, manuals, stationary, tools.

So this is going to work with this open planned desk how?
